Configurable options
The widget can be configured using the settings menu on your Garmin device. To open the menu, hold down "Menu" button for 2 seconds. On some devices (Edge) the menu opens from the settings button (3 bars icon).
- Zoom level:Possibilities are Close, Medium, Far and Very far. The levels vary a bit depending on the device, so try out what suits you the best.
- Square size: Squadrats / Squadratinhos
- Sounds: If enabled, the device beeps when entering a new (unvisited) tile
- Vibration: If enabled, the device vibrates when entering a new (unvisited) tile
- Show distances: If enabled, the device shows distances to nearby tiles
- Visited squadrats / squadratinhos: Shows you how many tiles have you visited in total.
- Clear visited tiles: Possibility to clear visited tiles and statistics.
Installation
You can install the Squadrats Viewer widget from the Garmin Connect IQ Store.
After installation, you need to add the widget to your device's widget loop or widget list.
Please refer to your device's user manual for instructions on how to add widgets to your device.
Known issues
- On some Edge models (1030, 1040) for some reason the menu is not opening properly. You can access the menu while the device is still searching for GPS signal but not in the map view. This is under active investigation.
- Sometimes the app just crashes. The reason seems always to be a conflict of device resources but no known solution yet. Please report any crashes via the Connect IQ Store or directly to e-mail info@address.ee
Future development plans
- Get the menu working on all devices, including Edge models.
- Increase the reliability
- Currently the visited tiles are marked using a standard Garmin marker. Instead, frame the visited tiles for better visibility.
- Zooming could be done via standard zooming buttons / touchscreen.
