Configurable options
Data field offers various customization options via the data field settings on Connect IQ / Garmin Express application. The changes you make in the settings will be reflected in real-time on your device (if in range).
- New line from here: Start a new straight line from your current location. You specify heading and distance to the destination.
- New line coordinates: Start a new straight line by specifying the exact coordinates for the starting point and destination.
- Specify boundaries: Set the distance from midpoint to the edge. Default is 100m. Each "zone" is 25m in width by default.
- Sounds and vibrations: Enable or disable sounds and vibrations for alerts.
Installation
You can install the Straight Line data field from the Garmin Connect IQ Store.
After installation, you need to add the data field to your activity profile (e.g., Outdoor Walk, Run, or Bike).
Please refer to your device's user manual for instructions on how to add data fields to activity profiles.
On most devices you can do this via: Settings > Activities > [Activity] > [Activity] Settings > Data Screens > Add New > Custom Data > [Keep one field] > Choose Field 1 > ConnectIQ Fields > Straight Line.
Once added, you can access the data field settings currently only via Garmin Connect IQ Store or Garmin Express application. The changes you make in the settings will be reflected in real-time on your device (if connected).
